SYREC are delighted to announce Caroline Boot has joined the Schools Engagement Team as Project Lead for the Primary Schools Project.  A major responsibility of the role is to re-establish the #JobsForEveryone project for reception children and Year 1 children (4-6 year-olds) and develop this into a sustainable model that can be offered on a larger scale to schools across the region.  The aims of the project are to raise awareness of different job roles in health and social care, promote equality and diversity and dispel stereotypes, particularly around gender.  In order to achieve the goal of up-scaling and sustainability, Caroline will be reviewing the existing project resources and developing these with an emphasis on how to add value for the schools during and post Covid-19, utilising video and virtual sessions.  Other key factors will be engaging and scheduling ambassadors to undertake sessions annually and monitoring uptake of the project. In addition, Caroline will explore and develop other means for engaging primary schools through key stages 1 & 2.

The project will have a new look for 21/22, which incorporates the fantastic images created by Illustrator, Haylea Weiss, and aligns with the already well-established SYREC brand.

If you're interested in finding out more or registering for the #JobsForEveryone project please get in touch with Caroline here: caroline.boot1@nhs.net.
