South Yorkshire Region Excellence Centre (SYREC), in partnership with Community Practitioner Alliance CiC (CPA) and Doncaster Council, today announced the launch of The Care and Support Staff (CaSS) Career Pathways.
Career Pathways is a thoughtfully designed tool to help Care and Support staff find their way forward in their career, providing information on what they need and how to get there. Career Pathways can, also, be used by those who are new to Health and Social Care, those who are interested in starting a career in the industry, while, also, helping businesses in their strategic workforce planning.
Jo Cameron (Director of Social Care, Community Practitioner Alliance CPA CIC) said: “As lead on this innovative project it provided CPA a fantastic opportunity to ‘bring together’ community members, persons who are cared for, carers (paid and unpaid), LA’s, care home leads and educational institutions to assist in the development of this tool.
"We give special thanks to the scoping group members involved for their time, knowledge and expertise, they remain central to the evolvement of the workforce in Health and Social Care. Also, the continued support from Skills for Care and Skills for Health has proved invaluable.
“The Career Pathways tool will help so many find a way forward in their career in Health and Social Care and we look forward to welcoming all."
Joanne Barrott (South Yorkshire Region Excellence Centre Programme Manager) added: “SYREC is proud to support the partnership with CPA and Doncaster Council on this initiative that will provide valuable information on routes into health and social care careers for our entire future workforce across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw.
“The Career Pathways tool will enable care and support staff to grow in their career, getting the right plans in place and signposting our future workforce into roles to match their skills and experience.”
